Terms
Prebrief terms of service
Last updated May 22, 2026
Prebrief gives you tools to prepare for your child's school meetings. These terms explain what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. We have kept them as plain as terms can honestly be.
The short version
- Prebrief is preparation help — not legal advice, and not an advocate.
- Anything the AI produces is a draft you should read and edit, not a finished document.
- You can cancel Co-Pilot anytime, and there is a 7-day free trial before you pay.
- These terms are governed by the law of Alberta, Canada.
The rest of this page is the detail.
Who we are
Prebrief is operated by The Human Frequency Inc., based in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Canada. By using Prebrief, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree with them, please don't use the service.
What Prebrief is — and what it isn't
Prebrief helps parents and caregivers prepare for IEP and IPP meetings. It gives you scripts, letter templates, prepared responses, and a plain-English understanding of the process.
Prebrief is not:
- Legal advice. We are not lawyers, and Prebrief is not a law firm. Nothing it produces is legal advice.
- An advocate or representative. Prebrief does not speak for you or attend meetings. You do.
- A guarantee of any outcome. We can't promise a school will agree to anything. Prebrief helps you prepare; it cannot control the result.
If you need legal advice — about your child's rights, a dispute, or a formal complaint — speak to a lawyer or a qualified advocate. Prebrief is a preparation tool, and that is all it claims to be.
Your account
You must be 18 or older to create an account. Prebrief uses passwordless sign-in: we email you a one-time link to log in. Keep access to your email secure, since anyone who can read your inbox could sign in as you. You are responsible for activity under your account. Give us accurate information, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has gained access.
Using Prebrief responsibly
When you use Prebrief, you agree that you will:
- Only upload documents you have the right to share. Where a document concerns your child, you confirm that you are their parent or legal guardian, or are otherwise authorized.
- Use Prebrief for your own family's meeting preparation — not to resell, redistribute, or republish its content.
- Not upload anything unlawful, or anything that infringes someone else's rights.
- Not attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer, scrape, or otherwise misuse the service, and not use it to harm anyone.
If you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, we may suspend or close your account.
The toolkit, Co-Pilot, and payment
Prebrief offers:
- The Toolkit — a one-time purchase ($47 CAD).
- Co-Pilot — a monthly subscription ($19 CAD per month) that begins with a 7-day free trial.
- The Bundle — the toolkit plus Co-Pilot ($77 CAD).
Payments are processed by Stripe. A few things to know:
- Free trial. If you start a Co-Pilot trial and do not cancel before it ends, it converts to a paid monthly subscription.
- Renewal. Co-Pilot renews automatically each month until you cancel.
- Cancelling. You can cancel anytime from your account settings. You keep access through the end of the period you have already paid for, and we do not bill you again after that.
- Refunds. We back every tier with a 30-day money-back guarantee — toolkit, Co-Pilot, and bundle. If Prebrief isn't right for you, email us within 30 days of your purchase and we will refund it. No form, no questions. You can also cancel a Co-Pilot subscription anytime from your account settings.
- Price changes. If we change subscription pricing, we will tell existing subscribers before it affects them.
Prices are in Canadian dollars and may be subject to tax depending on where you live.
When your subscription ends
If your Co-Pilot subscription ends — because you cancelled, or a payment failed — you lose access to the Co-Pilot workflows and the history saved in them. The toolkit is a one-time purchase and stays yours. Uploaded documents are deleted on their normal 7-day schedule regardless. If you would like a copy of your workflow history before it goes, contact us while your subscription is still active.
AI-generated content
Co-Pilot uses AI to draft scripts, letters, and responses from the information you give it. This content is a starting point, not a finished product. AI can be wrong, miss context, or misjudge tone. Always read what Prebrief produces, edit it to fit your situation, and apply your own judgment before you send or say anything. You are responsible for how you use the output.
Who owns what
- Our content. The toolkit, templates, workflows, and the Prebrief name and design belong to The Human Frequency Inc. When you buy or subscribe, you receive a personal licence to use them for your own family's meeting preparation — not to copy, resell, or redistribute them.
- Your content. What you type and upload remains yours. The drafts Prebrief generates for you are yours to use however you need. By submitting content, you give us permission to process it only as far as needed to run the service for you — see the Privacy Policy.
Services we rely on
Prebrief runs on top of other companies' services — including Stripe for payments, Supabase for accounts and storage, and Anthropic for AI. Your use of Prebrief depends on those services working, and their own terms apply to the parts they provide. We are not responsible for outages or problems caused by a provider outside our control.
Changes to the service
Prebrief is a young product and it will keep changing. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may take the service down for maintenance. If we plan a change that meaningfully affects something you have paid for, we will let you know.
No warranties
Prebrief is provided "as is." We work hard to make it useful and accurate, but we do not promise that it will be error-free, always available, or right for every situation. Prebrief is not a substitute for professional legal, medical, or educational advice.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, The Human Frequency Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from your use of Prebrief — including, for example, the outcome of a school meeting. Where we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for Prebrief in the 12 months before the claim.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Canadian law.
If your use causes a problem
If someone brings a claim against us because of how you used Prebrief — for example, because you uploaded something you did not have the right to share — you agree to cover the reasonable costs that result.
If part of these terms doesn't hold
If any part of these terms turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies, and the unenforceable part will be treated as narrowed to what the law allows.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we change them in a way that matters, we will update the date at the top of the page and, where it is appropriate, let account holders know. Continuing to use Prebrief after a change means you accept the updated terms.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Any dispute will be handled by the courts of Alberta.
